Questions and answers:
Materials such as ceramics, mediapan, gypsum or posters are materials with small or minimum embossment. The play of light and shadow is not as evident in this case. 3D Tiles panels are three-dimensional with thickness from 1 – 5 cm, depending on the model, which gives depth, yet another effect besides design and colour, to wall surfaces.
2. What is the weight of 3D Tiles panels?
The weight of 3D panels depends on design and thickness, ranging from 6 – 9 kg. The weight per square meter does not exceed 25 kg and this is the reason why our 3D panels fall into the category of self-supporting elements. It is possible to install them only with the aid of adhesive, without auxiliary anchor or support.
3. What are dimensions of 3D Tiles panels?
Dimensions of 3D Tiles panels are 600×600 mm. However, there is a possibility to construct bigger panels, in dimensions based on designer’s wishes.
4. What is the composition of panels?
3D Tiles panels are a composition of gypsum, water, fibres and additives which improve the quality and hardness of panels.
5. Is construction of custom-made panels with special design possible?
Construction of 3D panels with special design is possible. If you require a special model which we do not offer, please contact us.
Our 3D panels are made of special, high-quality type of gypsum which is normally more expensive than regular gypsum. Our 3D panels have perfect geometry with minimal deviations, they are non-combustible and the price is lower in comparison with products of similar quality world-wide.
7. How much do installation and painting of 3D panels cost?
Installation prices vary considerably depending on the country or city where the process takes place. However, average prices range from 15 to 30 Euros, with installation, impregnation and double-layer painting included.
8. Can I use 3D Tiles panels in damp spaces such as bathrooms or pool rooms?
Our panels cannot be used in spaces filled with condensation, since 3D panels are usually made of gypsum, which is not resistant to moisture. Panels made of gypsum are ideal for indoor spaces, since they absorb excess moisture when there is too much of it in the room, and they return it back when it is too dry.
9. How to maintain the wall with 3D Tiles panels installed?
As wall is a vertical surface and 3D panels are embossed, dust does not accumulate as on horizontal surfaces such as floors. Brooms, vacuum cleaners, sponges may be used for panel cleaning. Do not use detergents based on acid or alkali. If walls are painted with finish paint for preservation, consult with paint manufacturer.
10. What is the lifespan of our 3D panels?
As gypsum has often been used as material for interior decorating in the past, experience has shown that lifespan often exceeds 100 years.
11. Are 3D Tiles panels breakable?
When it comes to the size, panels are relatively breakable, similar to ceramics, which are also easily breakable if they fall from a height. When 3D panels are installed on the wall, they become very strong and they do not break. On the plus side, panels can be easily repaired, even if they break, and one does not have to be an artist to do that.
12. How to install 3D Tiles panels?
Panels are installed in the same way as ceramics, by blanket coating and gluing with flexible adhesive on the wall or ceiling, which is additionally facilitated by our lateral tongue-and-groove system to increase accuracy.
13. How to best prepare the wall for 3D panels installation?
In case of painted walls, it is best to apply deep penetrating impregnation, and in case of brick or concrete walls – contact impregnation.
14. How to install gypsum 3D panels?
To improve safety, we recommend to combine gluing the 3D panels with adhesive and dowel inserting. It is recommended to watch a instructions on installation at the following link Installation.
15. How to paint our 3D panels?
3D panels can be painted with air brush, paintbrush, roller or by using a special technique for decorative paints.
16. Which paints can be used to paint 3D Tiles panels?
Any kind of paint can be used for walls, but brighter shades are recommended due to greater contrast between illuminated parts and shadowed parts and matt paint, so that any installation errors cannot be easily spotted, especially at the attach points.
17. How are 3D Tiles panels different from the competition?
3D Tiles panels are made of special super strong gypsum, whereas the competition uses regular beta types of gypsum, which is of lower price, not as strong nor with as many details shown. We have developed a unique system of groove and tongue, which minimizes the number of errors after installation because it simply disables the possibility for installer to install 3D panels in the wrong way. There is also a system of 1 mm distancer, which is the reason why there is no need to use crosses at the attach points during panels installation. Our panels are different than competitors’ by its design which is completely original and developed inside our design studio, as well as in cooperation with external designers.
18. Why are some 3D panels called acoustic?
Our collection offers panels with advanced acoustic features. Their shape and panel surface effectively reflect sounds indoors, excluding echo effect.
19. How to pack 3D panels on pallets without damaging them?
3D Tiles panels are transported on Euro pallets positioned vertically, whereas corners are reinforced with corner profiles secured by clamps. In case of ship transport, pallets are additionally reinforced with pallet collars.
20. Who covers the cost of 3D panels damaged during transport?
Depends on who damaged the goods. If the product is damaged at our site, we cover the cost of damage. However, if the carrier has damaged the product, the damage is reimbursed from the insurance of the transport firm.
Everything can more or less be damaged or broken, but gypsum can easily be repaired by spackling or smoothing with sandpaper. Unlike most of our competitors, we use high-quality gypsum with high level of hardness and resistance to scratching. Therefore, the material itself is also good protection.
22. How can plastered 3D panels be used outdoors?
Our gypsum 3D panels are not intended for use outdoors, because gypsum absorbs moisture, and too much moisture can damage it. For outdoor spaces, please check our concrete-based models.
23. Do you provide “turnkey” service for installation of your panels?
We cooperate with several installation teams for our gypsum 3D panels. We highly recommend them, but mostly on the territory of Croatia. For other countries we can only help with advice and our installation instructions you can download here Installation.
24. Where can I find installation instructions for your 3D panels?
You can download instructions from this page Installation. Moreover, instructions are printed and delivered with every panel.
25. How thick are your 3D panels?
The thinnest panel is 9 mm thick, and the thickest is 50 mm. However, it is possible to manufacture custom-made thicker 3D panels, too.
26. Why would I use 3D panels, when I can simply paint the wall or hang wallpapers?
The simplest solution is to plaster and paint the wall, and this is also the cheapest option. However, every person is an individual and wants to emphasize his/her diversity and identity in the space surrounding him/her, and where he/she lives – his/her home. 3D Tiles panels are the focus and draw attention to themselves in the space, and they are non-repetitive as the same panel model looks completely different in different colours, and the lighting additionally affects its completely individual look.
Maybe it does seem so. However, there is another important element when viewing panels live – our panels are three-dimensional and they are exiting from the wall into the depth of the space, and they change its appearance according to lighting. Depending on the distance and angle of the lighting element, in some areas shadows are deep, and in other areas there are no shadows. That is how repetition of patterns is broken on the whole wall surface. Some of our models have characteristic appearance and are made of minimum two panels, which additionally reduces the effect of repetition. Our designers correct the design in correlation to lighting in the process of design and modelling on the computer, in 3D technique, in order to reduce the repetitiveness of the pattern.
28. How long does it take to coat the walls with gypsum 3D panels?
Smaller projects such as wall in the living room can be finished in 1 – 2 days, including installation and painting.
29. Gypsum as material sounds simple, maybe too simple…
There is almost no room where gypsum is not used in construction today. 3D Tiles system is a revolutionary way of using gypsum to decorate in 3D technique.
30. How to hang a lamp or a painting on the wall made of our 3D panels?
Lamp or painting mounting is done in the same way as on regular, flat, plastered wall. If elements are not too heavy, they are simply installed on a dowel or a screw, and particular attention is on the choice of the crew of sufficient length, which is then dowel inserted to reach the supporting member of the wall. If elements for installation are really heavy, call us and we will advise you on how to solve this problem.
31.What if there is flood at your neighbour’s place, or what if the part of the wall falls down?
In case of flood remove moisture from the room, and if it is warm outside, air other room out. If you have this possibility, use room drainage equipment. If 3D panels have not been under water for a very long time, they will probably not be permanently damaged. If the panels are mechanically damaged, they can be repaired with gypsum fillers. Of course, damaged panel can always be replaced with a new 3D panel – replacement of the whole wall is not necessary.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
